European Social Fund +

The European Social Fund + is a new Skillnet Ireland programme which supports training across a wide range of industry sectors and geographical regions. Ireland’s ESF+ programme is about investing in people. It aims to achieve high employment levels, fair social protection and a skilled and resilient workforce for the future world of work.  ESF + funding will also improve the chances of people getting a job by providing training to up-skill and reskill, lifelong learning, and education measures with a focus on those who face greater challenges in accessing the labour market. The ESF+ will contribute to reducing the risk of poverty and social exclusion, with an emphasis on disadvantaged groups. Learn more on European Funding here: www.eufunds.ie

Accredited Mediator Programme

This is an intensive practise-based programme (60 hours) which will train participants to become mediators as certified by the International Mediation Institute. 

Learning outcomes:

At the conclusion of the programme participants will have:

  1. An understanding of the complexity of conflict
  2. An appreciation of mediation as an effective response to conflict
  3. A detailed understanding of the process and skills of mediation
  4. Experiential engagement with the skills of mediation
  5. Application of mediation in the specific context of the work of HR leads
  6. Completed the assessment requirements to be certified with the International Mediation Institute (IMI)

Manual Handling Instructor QQI Level 6

The course is of 5-day duration, with a considerable emphasis on the practical delivery of Manual Handling in the Workplace, Assessing Risks related to Manual Handling activities, and the enhancement of participants training skills.

Learning outcomes:

On completion, course participants will:

  1. Understand the main legal requirements relating to Manual Handling in the Workplace.
  2. Be able to deliver a Manual Handling Training course.
  3. Understand the basics of Anatomy and Physiology, Fitness and Flexibility, Ergonomics, and musculoskeletal injuries.
  4. Be able to demonstrate and explain the lifting and moving of loads from different levels/heights, and assess course participants performance of their lifts.
  5. Be able to use Risk Assessment templates to assess and record potential risks associated with manual handling activities.

Training Delivery & Evaluation QQI Level 6 Minor Component 

This programme is designed to enable participants to impart skills and experience to others with confidence through designing and delivering professional training with positive learning outcomes for all involved.

  • Duration: 6 Trainer-led 3 hour sessions + 1 Skills Demonstration Day
  • Schedule (6.30pm – 9.30pm each day):
    • Tuesday 3rd & Thursday 5th September
    • Tuesday 10th & Thursday 12th September
    • Tuesday 17th & Thursday 19th September
    • Thursday 26th September – Skills Demonstration (timings TBC)

Module Breakdown:

  • Module 1: Introduction and Purpose of Training & Adult Learning
  • Module 2: Systematic Training & Planning and Preparing
  • Module 3: Delivering, Assessing, Reviewing – Evaluation
  • Module 4: Diversity and Legislation

Entry Requirements

  • Level 5 or equivalent in a relevant subject area
  • Participants must have English ILR Level 3 – Professional working proficiency.
  • Basic IT Skills

Certified Food & Beverage Skills

This 2 day programme is designed to give participants the basic skills needed to perform their day to day duties within a restaurant, gastropub, cafe or bar. Participants will receive CPD certification upon successful completion of training and assessment by demonstration of skills.

Learning outcomes:

On completion, course participants will:

  1. Understand the standard of food and drink service within the industry
  2. Understand basic food and drink service terminology
  3. Be able to welcome, meet and greet and seat guests
  4. Be able to take food and drink orders
  5. Be able to serve food and drink correctly
  6. Be able to identify and carry out the steps of service

Supervisory Skills

A concise 2-day training programme for new supervisors to grasp hospitality basics, designed for those ready to lead and manage with excellence. On successful completion and assessment of skills, participants will receive a CPD certificate.

By the end of this course, participants will:

  2. Demonstrate effective on-the-job training methods to enhance employee performance and development.
